Nordost Heimdal 3 Interconnect
Time for Evolution. We have taken our popular Heimdal cables and improved important aspects.
The result is an incredibly refined product. While each product skew does in fact bring advancements, I think we're most impressed with the solderless, ultra-sonic welding process for bonding terminations to the Norse3 speaker wires
-
Ultrasonic welding creates a precise, high-integrity connection between the conductors and terminations by using high-frequency vibrations to bond the materials without solder. This minimizes the addition of dissimilar materials and unnecessary mass, preserving signal integrity, and creating a highly durable, mechanically stable connection.
-
Norse 3 Power Cords go even further by introducing shielding to their design, adding an important layer of isolation between the conductors and their electromagnetic environment. By containing the electromagnetic energy generated by the cable, while reducing the susceptibility to external electromagnetic and RF interference, shielding provides a much-needed, controlled electrical environment.
-
Interconnects are also now shielded twisted pairs, for better noise rejection. This process is not as simple as it may seem, as twisting conductors generally results in different conductor lengths—a problem which Nordost has solved!
