Boston SW 10 Home Theater Subwoofer
A pretty good sounding sub. It dates from Boston Acoustic's heyday when it was one of the few good, more affordable alternatives to the better but substantially more expensive Velodynes and M&Ks. The Boston has a 100 watt internal amp with volume control, and in standby mode turns on automatically when it senses input.
Perfect for Home Theater use, but with two channel, a weakness is the fixed crossover point which is a highish 100 Hz which is only marched with small bookshelf speakers.
The SW10 has a nice substantial enclosure and is a quality piece if you can work with its limitations. Unlike some older low-end subs I've heard, it doesn't have a muddy, one-note sound to it.
