Originally Swiss (nowadays rather German) company Thorens belongs, no doubt, to the most deserving and respected turntable manufacturers.
The Thorens TD309 stands out for its innovative Tri-Balance suspension system, which ensures perfect mechanical and aesthetic balance, and its distinctive, non-rectangular shield-shaped design. It also features the specially designed TP 92 tonearm with an ultra-low-friction bearing and magnetic anti-bias system, a rolled aluminum arm tube using RMR technology, and a double-decoupled brass counterweight. Combined with its low-noise sound, ease of setup, and elegant appearance, these features create a unique and high-performing turntable experience.

"I was pleasantly surprised by the Thorens TD309. The suspension is wonderfully implemented because, even on an average shelving system, it reduces noise significantly which enhances frequencies throughout the sound spectrum giving you a focus that is a real highlight in this price point. There his plenty of life and sparkle here. Yes, it is controlled within a neutrality that keeps the frequencies corralled to some extent but, nevertheless, there is plenty of zest and life here to entertain.
