Founded by Sandy Gross, who previously co-founded Polk and Definitive Technology, GoldenEar brings the experience of a speaker design giant. The company was recently aquired by PML Sound International, who also owns Paradigm, Anthem, and MartinLogan. Manufacturing is done in Canada.

Description

 Since its inception, the focus has been on speakers that leverage a D’Appolito MTM (midrange, tweeter, midrange) array featuring an AMT (air motion transformer) tweeter. It’s a combination that offers highly detailed, cohesive sound. The Triton speaker renders exquisite levels of detail in the mids and highs but also plays clean, deep, tangible bass into the 20 Hz range

The sleek, 48″ tall Triton Two+ incorporates technologies and refinements like a fully balanced crossover design, high-end film capacitors, redesigned midrange/upper-bass drivers, and a reprogrammed DSP.

Its built-in subwoofer section is powered by a 1200-watt GoldenEar ForceField digital amplifier driving two 5″ x 9″ front-mounted quadratic subwoofer bass drivers coupled to dual opposing side-mounted, inertially-balanced, 7″ x 10″ Quadratic Planar Back-Wave-Driven Radiators. 

The Triton Two+ is actually quite efficient, and is not power hungry. Modest amplifiers (50W/ch) work well.
