We focus on modern features like multy-user Bluetooth for ease of use for music streaming. Built-in Bluetooth Multipoint lets you pair two devices and instantly switch between them—perfect for use with your smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Wifi music streaming is built in, no need to buy a separate streamer.

For a first-time buyer that wants to go beyond a soundbar and get real surround sound, someone setting up a living room or den, or a buyer who wants Atmos and modern HDMI without a significant investment, these are solid products that do what they promise.

Who it is not for: 

Being honest - Both the RX300A and RX500A are entry-level products. If you are building a serious home theater with quality speakers, dedicated acoustic treatment, and a multi-thousand dollar system investment, neither of these receivers is the right answer.

The amplifier sections may struggle with power-hungry or inefficient speakers. The room correction does not compete with Audyssey MultEQ XT32 or Dirac Live in terms of accuracy. Neither receiver has pre-amp outputs for adding external amplification later. And at 70 watts into 8 ohms, the headroom you need for a large room or demanding speakers is not there. 

For that buyer, look at options starting around $1500-$2000

But for an apartment, or an entry level system that Wows, this is perfect.
