FiiO Warmer R2R DAC
As its name suggests, the WARMER R2R DAC aims to infuse music with an invitingly warm and beautiful tube sound.
Connect your audio sources via digital optical, coaxial, or USB-C. WARMER R2R converts the digital input to a warm analog signal, with the organic sound of vacuum tubes. It then outputs this signal via its RCA and XLR outputs, connecting to your outboard preamplifier, integrated amp, headphone amplifier, active speakers, and more.
From the mesmerizing sway of the vintage warm-hued VU meters to the golden pairing of a resistor-to-resistor DAC and vacuum tubes, the WARMER R2R lets you sense the analog warmth of your music during every listening session.
Fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC array
An R2R ladder DAC employs a series of resistors with precise values arranged in a ladder configuration. Each step of the ladder corresponds to a bit in the digital signal, and the combination of these resistors translates the digital input into a corresponding analog voltage.
FiiO has equipped the WARMER with a proprietary fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor array with four channels. It consists of 48 resistors per channel, totalling 192 high-precision, ultra-thin film resistors with an accuracy of 0.1% and low temperature drift between the four channels.
This gives the WARMER R2R its distinctly captivating sound signature. For those who crave a less "digital" sound, R2R can be a great option with its uniquely rich and musical output.
E88CC tubes
Powering the tube buffer stage are four brand new JJ Electronic E88CC valves imported from Slovakia. The tubes are powered by a ±28V power supply and feature a long-lasting service life of up to 10000 hours. The core circuitry of the classic tube buffer preamplifier has been optimized to impart a sweet, organic tube flavour, giving your music a delightful richness and fullness.
VU meters
The retro warm-hued backlit true mechanical VU meter is powered by a dedicated integrated circuit. When the music plays, the meter moves in harmony, immersing you in the experience. Don’t just listen to music — you'll also see the music.
Linear power supply
The device uses a 46W low-noise, low-frequency toroidal audio linear transformer. Toroidal transformers have innate advantages: the toroidal core made with non-oriented silicon steel strips provides high efficiency and low eddy current loss, while the corner-free coils result in a more uniform magnetic field and less leakage. Thanks to this power supply, the WARMER R2R is fed clean power that allows it to produce pristine, immaculate sound.
