Description

Shunyata Research’s new Reference Line power cords were developed using the same materials science and technologies that make the Omega QR the market’s ultimate cost-no-object power cord.  The Reference Line power cables are designed to be used with the world's finest audio components.

All Reference models feature Shunyata Research’s exclusive VTX-Ag conductors that combine an ultra pure silver with a concentrically wound layer of OFE copper.  This provides the speed and transparency of silver with the richness, tonal color, and power of pure copper. Shunyata Research’s own CopperCONN™ connectors propel the Delta v2 cables to previously unattainable levels of performance.

Reference XC cables are designed specifically to optimize the performance of power conditioner and high-current amplifier performance.  The Delta v2 XC cables eschew noise reduction features in favor of enhanced DTCD (dynamic transient current delivery).

ADVANCED NOISE REDUCTION

Noise is an insidious problem that originates from many sources, including audio components themselves. Shunyata Research power cords employ proprietary internal noise reduction filters that intercept noise, preventing it from propagating to other components.

NR filters are specifically engineered to be non-reactive and compatible with all power supply designs including high-power amplifiers. This multi-element, wide-bandwidth noise-reduction technology was developed by Shunyata Research’s medical division, Clear Image Scientific, to improve the performance of medical imaging systems in cardiology and neurosurgery.

“Shunyata Research’s excellent Delta NR v2 really ticks all the boxes. It cuts through power line noise like a cleaver yet works on fine detail like a surgeon’s scalpel, but never once leaving the music sounding anything other than really enjoyably musical. An excellent choice.”

DYNAMIC TRANSIENT CURRENT DELIVERY

Every facet of the Delta NR power cord has been refined to deliver measurably superior Dynamic Transient Current Delivery.

DTCD™ Analysis is a technique that measures instantaneous current through low impedance electrical conductors and contacts.  Shunyata Research uses it to optimize the design, specification, and construction of parts and materials to ensure maximum current delivery performance.  Each part, conductor, noise circuit, and material inside the Delta NR allows for maximum throughput of instantaneous current.

Listeners will experience earth-shaking low-frequency performance from even the highest-current amplifiers as well as dynamic contrasts unheard of outside of a live event.  More than any other design parameter, Shunyata Research’s skill in eliminating resistance and maximizing peak-current delivery is unmatched.

VTX-AG CONDUCTORS

Reference model cables feature advancement in conductor technology that combines the transient speed and definition of pure silver with the warmth, power, and body of pure copper. VTX-Ag has a core conductor of pure silver with an outer concentric conductor of high-purity OFE copper. VTX-Ag provides significant improvements in dynamics, timing precision, and low-level resolution while preserving the subtle tonal, textural, and timbral signatures that bring music to life.

CopperCONN™ CONNECTORS

Shunyata Research has developed its own line of CopperCONN™ connectors that feature solid copper contacts that have superior conductivity compared to bronze or brass contacts used in common connectors.

These connectors are not just beautiful, they functionally reduce micro-distortions.  They are hermetically sealed with an electrically inert compound that protects the contacts and wires from corrosion.  This also ensures that the wires cannot become loose, fray, or pull out from the headshell.  This guarantees a lifetime of reliable performance that does not degrade over time.

“As ever with Shunyata Research cables, there’s none of that faffing around with burn-in or conditioning, thanks to its own KPIP (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process) performed in the factory. So, it’s good to go from the moment you plug it in.”

KPIP™ PROCESSING

The proprietary Shunyata Research, Kinetic Phase Inversion Process was created to significantly reduce the amount of time required to burn-in cables and power conditioners. It also has a performance-enhancing effect above and beyond simply burn-in.

Four days of continuous KPIP™ processing dramatically reduces the ups and downs for new equipment and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation.
